Historic Biloxi Walking Tour – Stop #12
Saenger Theatre (c. 1929)
Saenger Theatre
This eclectic style structure was at the forefront of theater design when it opened. It hosted traveling shows and vaudeville as well as “talking pictures.” It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 1976, the City of Biloxi saved the building from destruction and restored it as a performing arts center.
➵ Walk south on Reynoir until you come back to the Vieux Marché, then turn eastward. The next site is on the left.
