Historic Biloxi Walking Tour – Stop #17
Old Peoples Bank Building (c. 1896) (Ellzey’s Hardware/Dale Partners Architects)
The eastern end of Downtown Biloxi is anchored by a Victorian styled building at 750 Vieux Marché. It was designed by William T. Harkness and constructed for approximately $7,000. It was the original Peoples Bank. Its cupola is topped by an ornamental copper weathervane featuring a large witch carrying a broom and sitting on a fingernail moon. The Peoples Bank was located here until 1924.
➵ Turn right onto Lameuse Street and walk south a few feet. Your next location is on the left.
