Glenn Swetman House

Biloxi banker Glenn Swetman purchased the home from the subdivision developers in the early 1930s.  Built in 1927, the neoclassic influenced house has ionic columns that are symmetrical with the one storied pavilions flanking the two-storied central block. The walls of the Portico extend in line with façade columns.  A full entablature and balustrade cap the house.  The Swetman family has been associated with the People’s Bank since its establishment in 1896.

Continue west on Highway 90 and travel eight tenths of a mile and beginning at Rodenburg Avenue take note of the strip of land that lies south of Highway 90.  This area was known as Presque Isle during the early 20th century.
